Description
Blythwood Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rubble and pebbledash, topped with a concrete treble Roman tiled roof and brick gable stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape with a symmetrical front, featuring two storeys and three windows. All windows are sashes with cills at the first floor. The ground floor has two 16-pane sashes with cills, and a central panelled and glass door with an overlight and a triangular hood supported by brackets.
On the north elevation, there is a 20th-century attic window and a two-light casement window on both the ground and first floors of the rear wing. The south elevation also features a similar attic window and two 20th-century windows at the ground floor. The rear of the farmhouse includes both single-storey and two-storey additions with varied windows and doors. The gabled wing of the main house has a roof that sweeps down over the single-storey extension. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
