Description

The Village Pump is a covered pump dated 1888, constructed of timber with a thatched roof. It has a square plan, featuring oak posts at each corner that are supported by arch braces to the plates. The timber dado includes a gate leading to the road, adorned with cast iron dog-tooth ornamentation. The roof is hipped and thatched, topped with a weather vane. Inside, there is a centrally placed pump set into a tiled floor. The pump is made of cast iron and is attached to a timber column, which is flanked by angle quarter round columns with bases and capitals, and topped with a pyramidal finial. There are also attached commemorative plaques, and the gun metal spout discharges into a stone bowl.
