Description

This is a barn located 75 yards to the west of Garth Cottage in Marshfield, dating from the late 17th century and altered in the 19th century. The barn is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and features a slate roof with coped verges and saddle stones, one of which incorporates a stack. It stands on a high chamfered plinth and has two storeys. There are two windows on each floor, although the openings have been altered and feature wooden lintels. The central doorway is a Tudor arched chamfered design, with a stable door located to the right.
