MARSHFIELD C.P. ASHWICKE PARK Walls retaining the Terrace to the south and west of Ashwicke Hall, and Piers and steps

Retaining wall, steps and terrace. 1857-60 by J.K. Colling. Ashlar. Saddleback wall on plinth with roll moulded ridge; approximately 5 feet high. Circular bastions at south-east and south-west corners. Flight of 12 steps in centre of south range; 2 squat ashlar piers with band of fleurons as a cornice; crested caps. Similar flight on west side and similar piers at south east corner of the house where the wall returns as a quadrant.
