Description
This direction sign, located at the corner of Newpit Lane and Beach Hill, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of stone set into a rubble wall. The sign features a central triangular stone front that is inscribed with "Oldland Common" and has a pointing ruffed hand on each of its main sides. Flanking this central stone are two slightly curved stones, each also with a ruffed hand. The stone on the left is inscribed with "Beach" and includes a benchmark, while the stone on the right is inscribed with "Golden Valley and Upton."
