Description

The direction signs at the crossroads half a mile north-west of Beach date from around 1800 or shortly thereafter. They are located on the north-east and south-west corners of the intersection. Each sign consists of three painted stones, with the central stone standing upright and the outer stones inscribed with directions. The south-west guide stone indicates Upton and Bitton, while the north-east guide stone shows Wick and Beach. Each direction is accompanied by a ruffed pointing hand.
