Description
The United Reformed Church, founded from Humberstones, dates back to 1834. It has a rectangular plan with rendered walling and a hipped modern tile roof. A plain frieze band runs around the building, supported by angle pilasters. The entrance, located on the south-east side, features a central semi-circular ashlar porch with a cornice, a blocking course, and pilasters flanking double panelled doors. The porch has a half dome roof covered in lead, with ogee ribs topped by a poppyhead. Above the entrance is a bracketed and pedimented moulded tablet inscribed "1834 Independent Chapel." On either side of the porch are tall arched windows with small panes, some of which are coloured, set in a plain stone architrave. The side elevations also have three similar windows and an arched doorway with a fanlight.
