Description
Beachcroft is a building from around the 1830s, situated close to the site of a Roman villa. The exterior is rendered with plain ashlar dressings and features two storeys topped with a double-saddle slate roof that has a coped verge and end chimneys. There are three windows with glazing bar sashes; the outer windows on the first floor have wrought-iron balconies. The central arched doorway is adorned with brackets supporting an open pediment, and it includes a wreathed and radiating fanlight above a six-panel door. Inside, the building retains several features from the 1830s, including grates and a staircase with a ramped moulded wide handrail, which may date back to the 18th century.
