Description
The Malthouse, dated 1783, is a three-storey building constructed from coursed rubble with a double-saddle slate roof and ashlar stacks. It features three windows, which are sashes with glazing bars set in plain architraves that have moulded edges. The flat cornices above the ground and first-floor windows have been removed. The central window is topped with a tablet inscribed with "B J + S 1783," and there is a central door with a moulded cornice above it, along with an ashlar parapet that has coping. The rear of the building may be older. Several windows retain earlier 18th-century two and three-light flat mullion casements, and the side door includes a transom light with similar mouldings.
