Description

The Close, including maisonette numbers 1 and 2, is a building that underwent mid to late 18th century remodelling of a 17th century house. It features a rendered hipped slate roof with a blocking course and a moulded cornice. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with hipped dormers. The front elevation displays two 16-pane glazing bar sash windows. The side elevation contains nine windows, all of which are glazing bar sashes. Maisonette No 2 has a six-panel door beneath a fanlight with a plain stone surround, while No 1 has a later door beneath a hood supported by brackets. Inside, there are stop-chamfered beams in several rooms.
