Description

72 The Close is a building with origins in the 17th century that was altered in the early 19th century. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring a colourwashed brick front and an old tile roof with gable ends. The building includes two gabled dormers and two casement windows on the first floor. On the ground floor, there are two canted bay windows with sash lights and a central door made up of six fielded panels, all under a tiled pent roof that runs across the front. Earlier stonework is visible on the west gable end. The listed buildings in The Close form an outstanding group.
