Description
No 2 St Nicholas's Road is a former service range of No 4, dating from the very early 19th century. It is a single storey building with a basement, constructed of red brick and featuring a half hipped old tile roof and brick eaves. The façade includes four flush framed sash windows with intact glazing bars and flush panelled shutters. The entrance door consists of six flush panels and is set in a plain surround, accessed by a flight of stone steps with a wavy wrought iron guard rail. A flat hood supported by shaped brackets covers the door.
No 4, built around 1800, is a three-storey structure made of white brick. It has string courses at the first and second floor levels, a moulded wood cornice, and a plain parapet with stone coping. The second floor features three small windows, while the first floor has two large windows and a central angular bay adorned with a moulded cornice and a panelled apron. The ground floor has two similar windows and a central six-panel door within a doorcase that includes delicately reeded pilasters, corner blocks, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice with a dentilled bed mould. This doorcase is set beneath an elaborate wrought iron porch with a scroll pattern, located under the bay window.
Nos 2 and 4 form a group with No 7 De Vaux Place.
