Description

Close House is a mid-17th century building that was altered and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble and features a double Roman tiled roof. The house has two storeys and three windows, which are 2-light wooden casements with chamfered mullions and transoms. A notable feature is the projecting 2-storey and attic gabled porch tower, which has an early 19th-century door with a fanlight set in a plain stone surround with raised imposts. The inner door is made of studded planks and dates from the mid-19th century. At the rear, there is a two-window wing, with a bay on the ground floor that includes a stone mullion and transom window.
