Description
Villa Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the early 18th century, featuring a refronting of an earlier building and later alterations. The structure is made of rubble, with rendered sides, and has brick and stone dressings. It has a slate roof with stone ridge and gable stacks. The building is L-shaped with a three-span roof, and two spans at the rear form a rear wing. It stands two storeys tall and has three windows, all of which are sashes in exposed boxes with thick glazing bars.
The central first-floor window is a Venetian style with Y tracery in a round head, and there is a relieving arch above it. On the ground floor, there are two windows on each side of a central door that has four panels, with pilasters on either side, a triglyph frieze, and a modillioned pediment. The south side features a 20th-century rendered extension.
On the west side of the rear wing, there is a ground-floor three-light casement window with a segmental brick head, a first-floor sash window to the left similar to those on the front, and a two-light window to the right under a timber lintel with iron stanchions and internal shutters. There is also a plank door to the right. The north side is rendered and has a single light window in the gable, along with two casements in the rear wing. The interior is not accessible.
