Description
The Boar's Head is an inn dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of rubble with a rendered finish and features pantiled roofs along with brick gable stacks and a double Roman tiled porch. The building consists of three blocks, with a through passage in the central block. It is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of two: one: two, with all windows being sashes except for the ground floor, which has 16-pane sashes in an exposed box at the center. The two windows to the left have plate glass upper sashes. The central block includes a first-floor sash in an exposed box and a porch to the left, which has a pointed arched window to the side and a plank door in a moulded frame. There is a single-storey wing to the left featuring a French window, while the ground floor at the rear has a three-light casement under a timber lintel, along with single-storey 20th-century extensions. Inside, the building has plain beams that are rounded and not chamfered, with the frame remaining for the former through passage door. The front left room contains a fireplace with a timber bressumer and an oven recess to the side.
