Description
Valley Farmhouse is a farmhouse that underwent rebuilding in the 18th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed of limestone and sandstone rubble, rendered at the front, with stone dressings. The front features a slate roof with brick gable stacks, while the rear has a pantiled roof and a double Roman tiled kitchen wing. The building is L-shaped and has a symmetrical front with two storeys and three windows. All windows are 16-pane sashes set in moulded architraves with a projecting keystone. The central entrance has a panelled and glass door with a plain architrave and keystone, topped by a segmental pediment. To the left of the entrance is a rubble-built WC. The rear includes a single-storey extension and a two-storey wing, which features a 2-light casement window with a sandstone segmental head on the first floor. The ground floor has a 2-light casement with iron stanchions and a plank door. The rear of the wing has an unglazed attic window with a timber lintel and plank shutters. The southwest elevation displays a shield with arms at the gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
