Description
Batch Farmhouse is a farmhouse that was refronted in the mid-18th century, originally built in the 17th century, with later alterations and additions. The structure features rubble and rendered walls, with the rear whitewashed, and a slate roof with gable stacks. It is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are sashes in exposed boxes. The central porch has a canopied lead roof and a 20th-century door with sidelights. The floor level is lower to the right. To the right, there is a lower 1.5-storey wing that has two 2-light casements on the ground floor and one on the first floor, along with a brick lean-to that features a 20th-century 3-light window and a glazed 20th-century door at the right return. The rear of the farmhouse includes a single-storey glazed flat-roofed 20th-century addition to the right, an off-centre ground and first floor 2-light casement, and a two-storey 20th-century addition with windows on both floors. There are also two 20th-century raking dormers. The lower wing to the left has a 2-light casement on both the ground and first floors. Inside, the farmhouse features deep chamfered beams, though it has not been further inspected.
