Description

Fir Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating probably from an earlier period with significant alterations in the mid-18th century, and further alterations and additions later. The farmhouse is built of rendered rubble with a slate roof, gable stacks, and a double Roman tiled addition to the left, along with a pantile roof section. The main façade has two storeys and three windows, all sash windows with external shutters. A central projecting stair tower features a four-pane sash window under the eaves, likely marking the original position of the front door. A two-storey addition to the left incorporates a 20th-century gabled porch and a door, with a sash window above. Attached to the front on the left is a single-storey outhouse with a pantiled roof, two garage doors, and two 20th-century windows. The rear elevation, which originally served as the front, contains three sash windows, with a paired sash window on the ground floor to the right. A central, 20th-century gabled porch and doorway are present, and a right-hand addition includes a single-storey 20th-century extension and a plate-glass window on the first floor. The interior of the building was not inspected.
