Description
No. 11 Parkfield Road is a house that has been converted into a shop. It has origins dating back to the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a pantiled roof, along with a brick and double Roman tiled lean-to at the rear.
The house is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are sash windows with timber lintels. The second window from the left is accompanied by a six-panelled door that has a large round hood supported by wrought iron brackets, with a footscraper recess to the left. The left side of the building includes a rear wing with a door featuring a timber lintel, a three-light casement window with timber mullions and a timber lintel at ground floor, and a six-pane casement window at the first floor. There is also a single-storey addition at the rear, which may have been built around the same time as the original structure. This addition has a door set in a heavy moulded wooden frame and a two-light fixed light window to the left, along with a brick lean-to at the back.
At the rear of the house, there is a two-light casement window at ground floor and a sash window at first floor, along with two rear wings that are gabled at the back. Inside, the property features heavy chamfered beams and a panelled shop counter.
