ST 78 SW DODINGTON C.P. DODINGTON LANE (south side)

2/53 Stable about 20 metres west of Dodington Manor G.V. II

Stable. Dated 1841 with later alterations. Limestone rubble, rendered, leaving rubble plinth, stone dressings, slate roofs with raised coped verges. Central block has cart entry with segmental head, impost blocks and keystone, bull's eye to each side, 2-light window of 6 panes each light above in flat ashlar surround, datestone above with brackets and pigeon loft entry, gable over all; to each side a lower wing with multi-pane window and door. Left return has external stair to loading door, rear has 2 central multi-pane windows at first floor level. Interior: not accessible.
