Description
The Elms is an 18th-century building located on Moorend Road in Ex-Mangotsfield. It features rubble walling with stone coping and a modern pantile roof that has plain end gables. The structure is two storeys high and includes a wide central full-height porch with canted angles. Above the modern rubble porch, there is one sash window, and each side wall of the porch has a circular window with glazing bars. To the left of the porch, there is one window on each floor, with a triple light window on the ground floor. To the right of the porch, there are two windows on the ground floor and glazing bar sashes on the first floor, while the ground floor has modern "bows." A wide elliptical-headed wooden archway with a pantiled saddle roof is located to the left of the house, leading to the rear, which has been considerably altered. The building is said to have been converted from a brewery and malthouse.
