Description
The former laundry, brewhouse, timber store, and carpenters' shop at Saltram House is a building that served a large country house and dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed of local rubble with some granite dressings and areas of render, topped with dry slate roofs on three levels, with hipped roofs at both ends. The building has an L-shaped plan and is single-storey. The left wing features a symmetrical front with eight windows that replicate the original 18th-century sashes with thick glazing bars, while the other openings are arranged irregularly. On the right side, there is a 17th-century round-arched granite doorway, along with five additional doorways and several sash windows with glazing bars. The laundry block on the right is taller and has three windows at the front, including a wider window with paired sashes on the left. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
