Description
The gate piers, walls, and terminal piers located at the carriage entrance to Saltram House in Plympton, Saltram Park, are possibly from Boringdon Hall. They likely date from the 17th century but are more probably from the 18th century, inspired by the 17th-century piers from Boringdon. The piers are made of rusticated granite ashlar and feature plinths, moulded cornices, and shaped caps topped with ball finials. There are also short terminal piers and low ashlar walls connecting them, with the piers being square in plan.
