Description
Numbers 102 to 118 form a planned terrace of houses dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries in Stonehouse, Plymouth. The houses are largely stucco, though some has been replaced with render; they have dry slate roofs, with most featuring hipped roof dormers and brick end stacks. Original rainwater heads and downpipes are present on numbers 108 to 118. The buildings follow a double-depth plan, with a front room and entrance hall to one side of each property.
The terrace is three storeys high with attics above a basement. The houses on the left have a three-window front, while those on the right have two. Numbers 116 and 118 retain their original hornless sash windows with glazing bars; the remaining windows are later sash windows with horns. Pilastered doorways are topped with entablatures. The doorways feature panelled doors and reveals. Doorways at numbers 102 to 108 are arranged in pairs, with those at numbers 106 and 108 adjoining.
The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to contain features of interest.
Subsidiary features include low plinths on the basement walls, surmounted by wrought-iron railings with turned finials on the stanchions.
The terrace is part of a planned late Georgian streetscape designed in 1773. The area railings are separately listed.
