Description
No. 3 The Square is a shop, house, and warehouse dating from the early 19th century. The building is rendered and features a pantile roof with raised coped verges. It is two stories high and has three windows. On the right side, there is a pair of 8-pane, 19th-century shop windows set between pilasters, flanking half-glazed shop doors. To the left, there is a 16-pane glazing bar sash window, which has been altered, and above are margin-glazed sashes. At the rear, there is a gabled extension that is also two stories tall, with four windows and irregular fenestration, including 19th-century casements and one 16-light glazing bar sash. A four-panel door on the left leads into the house, which is situated behind and above the shop. The rear extension, now used as a warehouse, was formerly a candle factory.
