Description
Temperance Hall is a house that was formerly a school and master's house, built in the early to mid-19th century. The building is rendered with a slate roof, and features rubble and brick dressings, along with double roman tile roofs at the rear. It is a single-storey structure with three tall cross windows that have gothick tracery, situated above a flat roof porch. The porch has two round-headed single lights and a round-headed doorway, along with a cornice and parapet. The roof is pitched with large bracketed eaves. At the rear, there is a large gabled schoolroom from the late 19th century, which includes a prominent pointed gable window. Access to the porch is via a flight of steps that lead to the left, where the former master's house can be found. This two-storey section has two windows, a 20th-century glazed porch, and a very large canted stone bay with sash windows. Above this, there is a glazing bar sash window on the left and a 20th-century casement window on the right.
