NAILSEA C.P. YOUNGWOOD LANE (north west side) ST 46 NE 6/89 Bizley Farmhouse 15.11.85 - II

Farmhouse. Mid C19, possibly incorporating earlier building to rear. Snecked rubble with limestone dressings to right, random rubble to front left and left return, 2-span double Roman tiled roof with crestings, stone ridge and gable stacks. 2 storeys and 5 bays, to left ground and first floor two 2-light casements in chamfered surrounds with small gables with shaped bargeboards above upper windows; to right a 4-centred arched chamfered opening to porch with gable and bargeboards, quatrefoil in circular surround above, 2-storey gabled projecting wing to right has at ground floor a 4-light casement with relieving arch and limestone string course raised over window head, 2-light casement above with pointed arched heads and 4-centred arched surround, wide flat limestone surround, bargeboards to gable end and limestone quoins; to right 2-light casement at ground floor, and 2-light casement with pointed arched lights at first floor, small gable with pierced bargeboards over, roof half-hipped to right. Left return has 2-span roof with lower block behind, door to left and 2-light casement above, both with segmental heads. Rest of building and interior not accessible.
