Description

Youngwood House Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of rubble and has a rendered finish, topped with a double Roman tiled roof that features stone ridge and gable stacks, along with some pantiles. The building has an irregular plan, with a former bakehouse attached to the front left and a former cider house, which still contains an intact cider press, attached to the rear right.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four windows. The first floor features three-light 20th-century casements, while the ground floor includes a single light window, a 20th-century door, three-light and two two-light similar casements, and a 20th-century gabled porch located between two windows on the right. The attached two-storey bakehouse is built of painted rubble with a pantiled roof and brick gable stacks. It has a blocked window on both the ground and first floors, with a door on the side.

The right return of the farmhouse has a blocked ground floor window, with a remaining hood mould. The cider house on the right side has a door at the front and a plate-glass window on the side, featuring a pantiled roof with some stone slates remaining at the eaves. The rear of the building has three gable ends on the left, including one from the cider house. The central gable end has plate-glass windows on both the ground and first floors, while the rear right has a half-glazed door with a triangular hood and a three-light 20th-century casement with a timber lintel on both the ground and first floors. The inner side of the left wing has 20th-century windows on both the ground and first floors, along with a half-glazed door. The interior has not been inspected.
