Description

Coombe Grange is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with a parallel block added to the front in the early 19th century, along with some later alterations. The building is constructed of rubble and is rendered, featuring a two-span pantiled roof with rendered gable stacks and a ridge stack on the original structure.

The 19th-century front has two storeys and three windows, all of which are 16-pane sashes. There is a central panelled and glazed door with a flat hood supported by a trellis porch, and a single-storey rubble addition to the right. The left side of the building shows a blank gable end from the 19th-century addition, while the rear gable end has a single light at ground floor and a three-light 19th-century casement window at first floor. The right side has a single light and a door in a lean-to.

At the rear, which is one and a half storeys, the ground floor features, from left to right: a nine-pane light, a door with strap hinges leading to a former dairy, a three-light casement with a timber lintel, another door with strap hinges, and a two-light casement. Under the eaves, there are small three-light, two-light, and single casement windows. The interior is not accessible but is said to contain heavy doorframes and beams in the rear part.
