Description
Farler's engine house is a mid-19th century engine house located in the grounds of No. 2 Farler's End in Nailsea. It is constructed from random sandstone rubble with large quoins and brick dressings. The building is rectangular and roofless, featuring tall round-headed openings at both the front and rear, with brick sides and heads. There are various openings, including a door at lower ground level at the front, which has a stone relieving arch, and a round-headed upper opening on the left side. This engine house is one of the few remaining substantial examples in Nailsea, associated with the coalfield workings.
