Description
Noah's Ark is a detached house, now divided into three separate residences. It is possibly from the late 17th century but has been significantly altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of rubble with a double Roman tile roof and coped verges on the original section. The original structure is rectangular and likely features a through passage, with a later wing added to the back left, a lean-to on the right gable, and another wing at the back that runs parallel to the original building. However, this back wing and the adjacent No. 91 are not of special interest.
The main facade is a tall, two-storey structure with an attic, displaying a near-symmetrical design. On the ground floor, there are two four-light casements with voussoir heads, one on the left and a similar one from the 20th century on the right. The first floor has two three-light casements, both with cambered heads. The roof features two lay-lights. There are plank doors located at the center and far right, each with a 19th-century gabled hood; the lean-to on the right is situated above the plank door.
The right side of the building has a single light window in a stone surround for the attic, while the left side features a two-light casement on the ground floor and a smaller two-light window in the attic. Prominently displayed on the first floor of the front facade is a painted sign for Noah's Ark, which likely indicates its former use as an inn, along with a date of 1660. The interior has not been inspected but may hold historical interest.
