Description

The building is a winding engine house located in a playing field at the former Glassworks Pit, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from squared pennant rubble and brick. The structure is a small rectangular building without a roof, featuring the remains of a flue attached at the eastern corner. There is a brick arch over the bob opening in the north-west wall, along with various other openings, some of which are blocked. This engine house was formerly used for winding at the Glassworks Pit and is now one of the few remaining examples in the coalfield.
