Description

This is an early 19th century, three-story house, originally set at the lower corner of Marine Hill. The house has rubble walls with painted architectural details. A cornice runs along the second floor level. There are three windows with painted surrounds, featuring sash windows with glazing bars. A solid porch has a cornice and double doors consisting of three panels each. Area railings are present. A single-story extension is located at basement level on the west side, built in a neo-Greek style. Windows in the extension have tapering and shouldered architrave surrounds. The entrance features Ionic columns and a triangular pediment. The building forms a group with numbers 1 to 3 (consecutive), St Antony’s School, numbers 36 and 38 Hill Road, and Christiana, Copse Road.
