Description
This is a 19th-century brewhouse located approximately 2 meters southwest of Veronica Farmhouse in Bryher. It is constructed of roughly coursed granite rubble and features a gabled pantile roof with a granite end stack. The building is one storey high with a loft. There is a plank door on the right, with a small window to the left and a small loft window situated under the eaves. Inside, there is a granite lintel over the fireplace and four nailed A-frame trusses. Historical observations from the 18th and 19th centuries, including those by Borlase, noted that nearly every house on the islands was involved in milling corn by hand and brewing.
