Description

CHURCH KNOWLE CHURCH KNOWLE VILLAGE SY 9381 12/47 The New Inn GV II Public House. Probably C17 origin. In two sections. Main section has rubble stone walls, stone slate roof, brick end stacks. 2 storeys and attic. Stone gabled porch with segmental arch. West of this a blocked arched opening. Ground floor has 2 full-height windows with glazing bars. First floor has 3 horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars. Attic has one hipped dormer with casements with glazing bars. Eastern section of one storey and attics, has rubble stone walls and thatched roof. Brick stack near centre. Gabled porch with segmental arch. Ground floor has 2 casement windows with glazing bars. Attic has one dormer with similar casement. RCHM Monument 11 (Dorset Vol II).
