Description
The King's Arms is a public house located on Arne Corfe Road, likely dating from the 18th century. The building features walls made of a combination of rubble stone, brick, and plastered cob, topped with a thatched roof and brick stacks at both ends and in the center. It has an L-shaped plan and consists of one storey with an attic. The entrance includes a ledged door with a glass panel. On the ground floor, there is one horizontally sliding sash window and one casement window, both fitted with glazing bars. The attic contains two dormers, each with horizontally sliding sashes that also have glazing bars. A projecting tiled pentice roof supported by brackets extends over the front wall. At the rear, there is a single-storey wing with rubble stone walls and a thatched roof. This wing has a 20th-century extension with brick walls and a half hipped slate roof, as well as a flat-roofed single-storey rear extension located in the angle between the two wings.
