Description

The pump and adjoining steps are located in front of Nos. 14 and 16 on West Street in Kingston. This structure dates from the mid-19th century. The pump features an octagonal stone shaft set on a square base, topped with a stepped pyramidal cap and a foliated cornice, which is above a frieze decorated with blank quatrefoil panels. It has a cast iron spout, although the pull handle is missing. Beside the pump are stone steps that lead up to the raised pavement.
