Description

This is a detached house dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated in Wyke Regis, near Weymouth. It is a symmetrical, three-bay villa, originally set back from the road, and extended one bay to the left. The original part of the house has a parapet and gable ends, while the extension has a flat roof concealed behind the continued parapet. The exterior is rendered and scribed, with a slate roof. The front facade has four windows arranged in plain reveals with stone sills. The upper windows are 12-pane sashes, with a blind light in the third bay; the ground-floor windows are a series of paired French doors with margin-pane glazing. The right-hand gable has two 12-pane sashes at the first floor. A projecting, flat-roofed porch with a 20th-century door and a two-light casement window with margin-pane glazing is located on the right-hand side. The rear has further 12-pane sashes. A plain band runs horizontally between the floors, and there are gable stacks. The windows on the front facade have shutters on both floors. The interior has not been inspected.
