Description

This is an 18th-century building on the South Side of West Street. It is constructed with vitrified headers and red brick, reinforced with red brick chains, and features stone dressings and rubber voussoirs. The roof is pitched and tiled, with stone slates at the eaves. Red brick stacks are present. The building is two storeys high with an attic, and has a brick modillion eaves cornice. The ground floor has two 19th-century plate glass shop windows with scrolled brackets supporting the fascias. A four-panelled double door is set in a moulded frame, topped with a gabled hood supported by brackets. The first floor has four flush-framed sash windows with glazing bars. Two attic dormers, each with a hipped tile roof and tile-hung cheeks, contain sash windows with glazing bars within eared moulded surrounds. Nos. 1 to 29 (odd) form a group, and No. 29 has local interest only.
