Description
No. 19 West Street is an 18th-century building constructed of red brick. It features a vitreous brick string and has a blocked window on the first floor. The roof is pitched and covered with tiles, with stone slates at the eaves and a coped gable end. Red brick stacks are present, and the building has two storeys and attics. A diagonally placed brick eaves cornice adds to its architectural detail. The ground floor has been modernized, while the first floor contains two flush-framed cased sashes with glazing bars. There are also two attic dormers, which have hipped tile roofs, tile-hung sides, and casements. The building is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 29 (odd), with No. 29 being of local interest only.
