Description
No. 8 West Street is a mid-19th century building constructed of stucco with a hipped slate roof and a red brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a moulded eaves cornice and a parapet. It is distinguished by long and short quoins and three ranges of sash windows that include glazing bars and moulded cornices supported by brackets. The entrance consists of a six-panel door, with two flush panels and four glazed panels, topped by an oblong fanlight set in panelled reveals. The doorcase is adorned with fluted Tuscan columns that support a full entablature and cornice. No. 8 is part of a group that includes The Red Lion Hotel and Nos. 2 to 12 (even).
