Description
23 and 25 West Street are 18th-century buildings made of colour-washed brick with a pitched tile roof and stone slates at the eaves. They feature red brick chimneys and stand two storeys tall with attics. The buildings have a brick modillion eaves cornice. Both properties have modern neo-Georgian bowed shopfronts that replace the original ones, which they do not resemble. On the first floor, there are two segment-headed flush-framed cased sashes with glazing bars and one segment-headed flush-framed casement. There are also two modern attic dormers, one of which has a hipped tile roof, tile-hung cheeks, and a cased sash with glazing bars. Nos 1 to 29 (odd) form a group, with No 29 being of local interest only.
