Description
No. 162 is a detached cottage dating from the 18th century, located on the west side of East Street in Corfe Castle. The building features rubble stone walls and a thatched roof that is hipped at the left end, with a brick stack at the right end. It is positioned at right angles to the road and consists of one storey and an attic. The cottage has a gabled porch with a stone slate roof and a ledged door. On the ground floor, there is one casement window with a central horizontal bar and one pivoted window. The attic includes two half dormers, each with a central horizontal bar. There is a 20th-century single-storey extension at the left end, which has a corrugated asbestos roof and a part-glazed door. A catslide roof extends over the rear of the extension. Inside, some ceiling beams are exposed. The boundary wall to the road is made of rubble stone and features cock and hen coping.
