Description
Grapevine Cottage is a detached cottage, likely dating from the 18th century, though it may be of earlier origin. It stands at right angles to the road. The cottage has walls built of cob and plastered, with a thatched roof and brick stacks. It is two storeys high and features a buttressed front wall. A modern lean-to porch has been added to the front. The ground floor has two casement windows with glazing bars, and the first floor has three similar casements. A single-storey barn extension is attached to the north, with a thatched catslide roof. A recent single-storey addition has been built onto the south side, constructed with plastered walls, a thatched roof, and casement windows. The building is recorded in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments as Monument 5.
