Description
Dale Cottage is a detached house dating from the late 18th century. It features plastered cob walls set on a flint base, which is colourwashed, and has a hipped thatched roof with one brick chimney stack at the left end and another at the rear right end. The building is two storeys high with attics. The ground floor includes two glazed doors, two casements with glazing bars, and one casement with lead lights. On the first floor, there are four casements with lead lights, and the attic has one dormer with casements. At the left end, there is a late 19th-century extension made of flint with a slate roof and a ledged door. A rear wing, which is entered at first floor level due to the rise in the ground, is constructed of plastered cob and has a thatched roof. Inside, the main ground floor room features a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and some exposed ceiling beams.
