Description
York Cottage is a former group of two or three cottages, likely built in the 18th century. The building features roughcast walls and a thatched roof, with brick chimney stacks. It is one storey high with attics and is positioned at right angles to High Street. The main south elevation includes a part-glazed door, while the ground floor has four casement windows with glazing bars. The attic contains two dormers, each with similar casement windows. The end elevation facing the street has one horizontally sliding sash window with glazing bars on each floor. On the north side, there is a lean-to extension with a catslide roof. Inside, the three ground floor rooms are equipped with large open fireplaces, one of which includes a bread oven.
