Description
Higher Kingsland Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century or possibly earlier. The building features rubble-stone walls that are plastered and has a thatch roof with gable ends. There are brick stacks located at the left-hand gable and to the right of the center. The farmhouse is two storeys tall and has four windows on the upper right side, which are two-light casements with lead lights. There is also a four-light casement window that is pegged with a heavy frame and small lights above it. The porch, which dates from the 19th century, has brick jambs and a blue lias stone roof.
Inside, there is a large open fireplace that measures 8 feet wide by 6 feet high, featuring a chamfered lintel at ceiling level. To the left of the fireplace, there is an embrasure with a stone shelf, and a bread-oven door marked with "Samson Bridport."
