Description
No. 23 Cockles is a detached house, likely dating from the 17th century. The walls are constructed of a combination of rubble stone and plaster, all of which is colourwashed. The house features a thatched roof with brick stacks at both ends and in the center. It has one storey and attics.
On the north side, there is a projecting gabled wing and a single-storey lean-to with a thatched catslide roof. The north elevation includes a part-glazed door, with the ground floor featuring one horizontally sliding sash window, one casement window, and one fixed window, all equipped with glazing bars. The attic has one casement window located in the wing.
The south elevation has a modern lean-to porch with a part-glazed door. The ground floor on this side has two casement windows and one horizontally sliding sash window, all with glazing bars. The attic features four dormer windows, each with casements and glazing bars.
