Description
Pond View is a semi-detached cottage located in Worth Matravers Village, consisting of two sections built at different times. The left-hand section is likely from the 18th century and was originally a smithy, featuring one storey. It has rubble stone walls, a stone slate roof, and plastered end and center stacks. This section includes a stable door and a ground floor with a fixed window that has cast iron glazing bars, along with a hipped dormer that contains casements. The right-hand section is probably from the 19th century and has two storeys. It features a ledged door within a timber porch, with each floor having a casement window with glazing bars. There is also a lower rear extension that matches the original construction. At the time of the survey in 1974, the building was under repair.
