Description
An 18th-century cottage with an attached 20th-century shop, situated at an angle to the road in Worth Matravers village. The cottage has rubble stone walls, with one end wall plastered. It features a stone slate roof and a stone end stack. The building is two storeys high with attics. A 20th-century lean-to has been added to the front, also with a stone slate roof. The west wall (left side) has one 20th-century metal window on the ground floor. The first floor has a casement window with glazing bars. Two pent-roofed dormers with casements are visible in the attic. The shop is single-storeyed, with stone walls and a stone slate roof, and contains a 20th-century shop window. Inside, a large open fireplace with a timber lintol and remnants of a bread oven are still present in the main ground floor room.
